The NFL distributes approximately 1% of the tickets to fans through an annual Super Bowl random drawing. The drawing is not considered a lottery (there is no charge to enter). This is the NFL's only method of distributing tickets to the general public. The NFL does not sell tickets to travel or ticket agents.

Requests for the random drawing are accepted between February 1st and June 1st of each year, preceding the game. For Super Bowl XLIII the drawing will be in 2008. All entries must include name, address, phone number and email address, and must be sent via certified or registered mail. Requests for tickets to Super Bowl XLIII, to be played February 1, 2009 in Tampa, Florida, will be accepted beginning Feb. 1, 2008. You will be notified by mail in October or November if you are eligible to purchase Super Bowl XLIII tickets.

1. Make sure to request two SuperBowl tickets to the Super Bowl that you wish to attend. ie ... 2009

2. Send your Super Bowl ticket request via certified mail.

3. Be sure to include your full name, address and phone number.

4. Type your Super Bowl ticket request. You'd hate to miss out because your penmanship is poor.

5. Remember that duplicate requests will be discarded, but there is no rule against entering all of your friends and family (as long as they have a different address) in the Super Bowl ticket random drawing.

they never go on sale---you can buy them at crazy prices from ticket brokers or you can submit your name to the nfl and hope you get picked in a lottery that will allow you to buy two tickets at face value that is the best we as fans can do to go---but to answer your question there is no public sale of tickets to the super bowl
